Twenty New Trees For Kibbutz Tzuba

We had such a great time meeting Ziggy at Kibbutz Tzuba. The new trees planted in the kibbutz look fantastic!

Thank you to Israel 365’s amazing donor community.

Kibbutz Tzuba is a 15-minutes drive from the Israel365 offices in Bet Shemesh.

And guess what? Tzuba is mentioned in the Bible!

Before his death, King David lists his bravest warriors including “Igal son of Natan from Tzuba…” (II Samuel 23:36).

It was an honor to plant trees in the same location where King David’s soldiers lived and walked thousands of years ago. It is nothing short of miraculous to play a part in the continuation of Jewish history in the Land of Israel.

The kibbutz is beautiful and green, and is a rare functioning kibbutz! That means that the families of the kibbutz eat together in a community dining hall every day. Members of the kibbutz also share communal cars and take turns using them as needed.

While the kibbutz lifestyle was very popular in Israel 60 years ago, it is almost non-existent today, as the ideology of socialism failed to survive the real world.

It was a real treat to spend some time on this real, functioning kibbutz.

Ziggy is the landscaper and gardener at Kibbutz Tzuba. He was thrilled to have received such generous donations to plant 20 new trees in the kibbutz

While Ziggy was born in and grew up on this kibbutz, his mother and father actually made aliyah (immigrated to Israel) from the USA around 40 years ago. He was amazed to hear that the donation he received was made by supporters of Israel from around the world – including from America!

Thank you so much to all the donors who contributed to this tree-planting project.

We have visited dozens of communities across Israel, planting trees and beautifying towns and villages.

Donate here to plant trees in Israel!

All monthly donors of $50 and more will receive a beautiful personalized tree plaque in appreciation of your commitment.

Dancing Through Life

Binyamin had a smile that lit up the room and a personality that brought joy to all who knew him. He was a happy young man who loved to dance. Though we are broken over his loss, we realized that the only way to properly honor him was to bring joy to others – and party like only Binyamin knew how!
