עוֹד תִּטְּעִי כְרָמִים בְּהָרֵי שֹׁמְרוֹן נָטְעוּ נֹטְעִים וְחִלֵּלוּ׃

Again you shall plant vineyards on the hills of Samaria; Men shall plant and live to enjoy them.”

(Jeremiah 31:4)

Q&A

Which tree species are we planting?

We primarily plant fruit trees from the seven Biblical species: Olives, grapes, pomegranates, figs, and dates. We also plant indigineous non-fruit trees that are most compatible with the various ecosystems found in Judea and Samaria. The overall goal is to plant trees that will beautify communities, help communities earn a living, and help the Jewish people establish a stronger foothold in the Land.

When are trees planted?

Trees will begin to be planted on September 28th, 2022, the first planting day after the end of the Shemitta (Sabbatical) year. During the Shemitta year, seeding or planting is prohibited in the Bible.

Where are we planting the trees?

Wherever the trees are most needed in the Land of Israel, with a focus on the Biblical heartland of Israel – Judea and Samaria.

What’s the cost of planting a tree?

$50.00 per tree. This covers the tree itself (this may be a sapling or a more mature tree, depending on the terrain), irrigation, fire protection, animal protection, and the cost of planting and maintenance (only using Jewish labor). We work hard to make sure that every single tree grows to maturity and stability.

Are tree donations tax-deductible?

Yes, for U.S. citizens. You’ll receive a receipt via email immediately following your donation. If you live in a country other than the U.S., you’ll need to check with your country’s tax authority for more information.

How many trees did Israel365 plant last year?

Between Sept 2020-2021, Israel365 donors had the merit to plant approximately 1,500 trees.
