Description

This silver Jerusalem Sky Necklace, handcrafted by Maor Saadya of Rafael Jewelers, is made of fine sterling silver with a genuine fragment of ancient Roman glass. With an iridescent blue-green sparkle and a beautifully engraved Jerusalem design, this 1-inch pendant will remind everyone who sees it of the vibrant Jerusalem sky. Bring along a little piece of that beautiful blue expanse wherever you go. Each pendant is unique, as no two glass fragments are exactly the same. The pendants come with a sterling silver chain and should be kept out of contact with water to preserve the lovely patina that makes ancient Roman glass so special.

In the Bible

The heavens are telling of the glory of G-d, and their expanse is declaring the work of His hands
--PSALMS 19:1

Anyone who has seen the sky in Jerusalem will tell you that there is something about it that is bluer, brighter and more vibrant than anywhere else on Earth. As the verse by King David states, the sky itself seems to tell of G-d’s glory. Looking into the vast expanse, one can’t help but marvel at the greatness of Creation and feel a sense of awe in our Creator. And, of course, looking into the sky over Israel, one feels an interconnectedness with the Biblical forefathers, who stared up into the same sky.

I have always loved Israel and Jerusalem. I am almost 83 and my husband and I were set to go to visit but the 6 Day war caused the trip to be canceled. He passed away in 1993. The picture is my husband and I on our wedding do day Dec. 6 1953.
