Ezra-Nehemiah eBook: Download a taste of The Israel Bible!

From the 70th Anniversary Edition of The Israel Bible

Sefer Ezra v’Nechemya (Exra-Nehemiah) is the penultimate book of the Hebrew Bible.  Though comprised of two smaller books, Ezra and Sefer Nechemya were joined, as they concisely discuss the same general era, the final period included in the Tanakh.  While some of the recorded events occur in faraway Persia, the focus of the book is the realization of the yearning of the Jewish exiles to return to Eretz Yisrael.

Description

Journey through the complete Book of Ezra/Nehemiah with insightful commentary and a special focus on the Land of Israel. Includes the full, original Hebrew text with clear English translation. All 24 books of the Hebrew Bible relate to the Land of Israel, but this book is the only one that is dedicated to the rejuvenation of the Land of Israel, the people of Israel, and the Torah laws. Our generation has merited seeing these words come to life before our eyes. It is therefore our privilege and obligation to study this book in order to learn from and benefit from the successes and failures, core messages, and divinely inspired wisdom that relates to the Jewish people’s first attempt at resettling the land in the times of Ezra and Nehemiah.

In the Bible

But if ye return unto Me, and keep My commandments and do them, though your dispersed were in the uttermost part of the heaven, yet will I gather them from thence, and will bring them unto the place that I have chosen to cause My name to dwell there.
--NEHEMIAH 1:9

One thing that sets Judaism apart from other religions is the concept of a "chosen place." here, God reiterates that if the people only repent, He will bring them back to that place of holiness, the Land of Israel.

Thank you!!! I received the Israel Bible Book in very good condition the book is navy ,and white the print is good for reading. There is the Hebrew Alphabet in the front of the book by the way it is reading from back to front. It says Hebrew Transliteration of proper nouns going from right to left Name in Hebrew then Transliteration then English name then Hebrew Common. Starting off is Ezra to the right of the page is in Hebrew then English to the left down below on some pages is like a Commentary section explaining the verses. In Chapter 10 Verse 1 of Ezra Now while Ezra prayed, and made confession, weeping and casting himself down before the house of God,there was gathered together unto him out of Yisrael a very great congregation of men and women and children; for the people wept very sore. 2 And Shechanya the son of Yechiel, one of the sons of Elam, answered and said unto Ezra: We have broken faith with our God, and have married foreign women of the peoples of the land;yet now there is hope for Yisraelconcerning this thing. 3 Now therefore let us make a covenant with our God to put away all the wives, and such as are born of them, according to the Counsel of the Lord, and of those that tremble at the commandment of our God; and let it be done according to the law.4 Arise for the matter belongeth unto Thee, and we are with thee; be of good courage, and do it. Now I will read some verses from Nehemiah chapter 1 verse 3 And they said unto me: The remnant that are left of the captivity there in the province are in great affliction and reproach; the wall of Yerushalayim also is broken down, and the gates thereof are burned with fire. 4 And it came to pass, when I heard these words, that I sat down and wept, and mourned certain days; and I fasted and prayed before the God of heaven, 5and said: I beseech Thee,O Lord, the God of heaven the great and awful God, that keepeth covenant and mercy with them that love Him and keep His commandments; 6 let Thine ear now be attentive, and Thine eyes open, that Thou mayest hearken unto the prayer of Thy servant, which I pray before Thee at this time, day and night, for B’nei Yisrael Thy servants, while I confess the sins of B’nei Yisrael which we have sinned against Thee; yea I and my father’s house have sinned.7 We have dealt very corruptly againstThee, and have not kept the commandments, nor the statutes, nor the ordinances which Thou didst command Thy servant Moshe. So I have given you a sample of the verses for these two books of the Bible. Take advantage of this set of Israel Bible books you can buy them one book at time if needs be you won’t be disappointed Kim C.
