Save A Jewish Baby

“Whoever saves a life, it is considered as he saved an entire world.”

(The Talmud)

About the Organization

Save a Jewish Baby is an initiative of Efrat, an organization founded after the Holocaust to preserve the sanctity of life in Israel. Save a Jewish Baby draws its inspiration from the Biblical story of Shifra and Puah, the “Hebrew” midwives in Egypt. According to some, the two midwives were actually Egyptian, making them the first gentiles in history to risk their lives for a Jew and incredibly, the Bible refers to these two non-Jews as Hebrews.

Israel365’s endorsement

As a grandchild of Holocaust survivors, I grew up with a keen understanding that children are the key to the future of the Jewish people, and that each child born is in the memory of the estimated 1.5 million Jewish children who perished at the hands of the Nazis. I share this passion with Dr. Eli Schussheim, EFRAT’s devoted Chairman since 1977, who takes no salary for his work and is dedicated to ensuring that no baby in Israel is aborted due to financial worries. The holy work of EFRAT represents the strength and eternity of the Jewish people: “Am Yisrael Chai” – the Nation of Israel Lives!
