Rosh Hashana Inspiration from Rabbi Tuly Weisz and Tamar Ettinger
September 5, 2019

In March 2019, Rabbi Achiad Ettinger was brutally murdered by Palestinian terrorists.  Rabbi Ettinger, who lived in the settlement of Eli in Samaria, was killed when a terrorist stabbed him, seized his weapon and shot him. Even after being critically wounded, Rabbi Ettinger managed to fire four bullets in the direction of his attacker.

Rabbi Ettinger is remembered as a devoted husband, father, Rabbi, and educator. “Rabbi Ettinger’s life’s work will continue with us even after his passing, and the strength he gave his students and the community he led will continue to strengthen us through this enormous grief and sorrow,” said Israeli President Reuven Rivlin.

Rabbi Ettinger left behind his beloved wife Tamar, and 12 beautiful children. The images of these children mourning at their father’s funeral are absolutely devastating.

Rabbi Tuly Weisz and Israel365 understand the tremendous needs of the Ettinger family. With Rosh Hashana (the Jewish New Year) right around the corner, children need new clothes, food for the holiday, and other basic living supplies. Rabbi Ettinger and his wife Tamar were abundantly blessed with 12 beautiful children. The number 12 is a special number in the Bible. It correlates to the 12 tribes of Israel. Rabbi and Tamar Ettinger were blessed with their own personal tribe. With Rabbi Ettinger’s passing, Tamar has risen to the occasion of raising these tribes on her own.

The Ettingers’ needs are great. Tamar is confident that God, and the good people of the world will continue to strengthen her and her children with the coming of the new year.

May we all merit to have a Shana Tova U’Metuka- A good and sweet new year!
