I often receive prayer requests from our dear readers of Israel365, and am touched by the close-knit virtual community we have created together through our shared love for God, the Bible and the Land of Israel. I am reaching out to you today, dear friends, with a personal prayer request.
Over the past five days, I have been with my father day and night in the intensive care unit at Ohio State University. He has been battling cancer for several years with complications brewing over the past few weeks and is having an important procedure today.
While the Bible often refers to individuals with their father’s name (David the son of Jesse), the Jewish practice is to pray for a sick person by not only using their Hebrew name, but by mentioning their mother’s name, and so I ask you to pray for healing for Meir Yitzchak ben (son of) Pessel.
On a personal note, anyone who knows me or who is connected through Israel365, must know that I believe firmly that living in Israel is an incredible blessing. Nevertheless, it is especially difficult to leave family behind. God’s first words to Abraham to settle the Promised Land call upon him to, “go from your father’s house to the land that I will show you” (Genesis 12:1). That was part of the challenge to Abraham’s faith, to leave his father’s house, and his family behind. Similarly, when we moved to Israel 8 years ago, the hardest part has been living so far from our family. In my case, leaving my father’s house has been particularly challenging, especially since my dad’s diagnosis with pancreatic cancer shortly after we moved to Israel.
Unfortunately, pancreatic cancer is a terrible disease with very low survival rates. Since the disease spreads silently and rapidly, most people only live for a few months after diagnosis, however, we have been truly blessed. When my dad was diagnosed seven years ago, he was among the slim minority to be a candidate for surgery.
On the day of the operation six and a half years ago, I called upon the readers of Israel365, both Jews and non-Jews, to pray for my dad. I remember sitting in the waiting room with my mother and reading aloud to her so many heartwarming emails that poured in from around the world and which brought our family such great comfort. And so when the surgeon emerged after the 13 hour operation and told us excitedly that the surgery was a success, I knew that it was thanks to the fervent prayers of so many close friends and complete strangers. We were truly blessed with a miracle, which I wrote about on the anniversary of his surgery, “God Can Even Remove Cancer.”
Therefore, once again, I am asking you, the readers of Israel365, who have become an extended family to me, to pray for my father.
As wonderful as the nurses are and as skilled as the physicians may be, there is no one who can provide all that we need, except God. I was discussing with father just yesterday, how Hashem is surrounding us with love at all times, even – especially – during the most difficult days, and He has given us the great gift of prayer to grow and come closer to Him. We are joyously placing ourselves in His healing hands today and we beg the Merciful One to grant a “Refuah Shelema”, a complete recovery, to Meir Yitzchak ben Pesel. My family will be reading Psalms today, especially Psalm 91, Psalm 121 and Psalm 130 and I invite you to invoke the eternal words of King David with us.
“From where will my help come? My help comes from the Lord, the Creator of heaven and earth.”
May our Israel365 family share good news with one another and may our Merciful God grant all of our loved ones who are ill a “Refuah Shelema,” a complete healing!
I just want you to know I will be praying for your father, for you and the rest of your family!

Praying to our Sovereign Lord today for the refuah shelema of your father, Meir Yitzchak Ben Pessel. Isaiah 41:10: Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.
Our Prayers go out to you and your family. Please go online and read the Joe Tippens Story at mycancerstory.rocks. I had stage 3 Mantel Cell Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma and have been healed by the grace of the LORD and the Joe Tippens method. Joe had small cell lung cancer and the Hospital sent him home to die. A friend of his told him about a research that had a 100% cure rate for cancer. He is still alive more than 3 years after they said he would die and has no sign of cancer. I went on his method after being almost killed with chemo. After the last 3 PET Scans I am cancer free and doing fine. I would be remiss if I did not say that a lot of prayers were said in my behalf and the LORD had a big part of my healing. I will say that maybe, just maybe, that through the prayers the LORD led me to the Joe Tippens story through a friend of my daughter’s. May GOD bless you and I pray that this method might save your father’s life.

I pray that the Lord will shine his light on your father and heal him. May God bless him and in his infinite mercy give him a speedy recovery
May the Lord bless you too and give you courage and strength
I will pray for you both and Israel and the Jewish people as always
I always find this short hymn( well chant) really helps me

I pray against the spirit of death. May the Lord God keep the breath in Meir Yitzchak ben (son of) Pessel until the set day the Lord will take his breath. Many prayers to God for your father. Trust God, totally trust. With love and shalom. DS
I was born at that hospital, and I made it through, even though I had the cord wrapped around my neck, buttocks first, and with mild spina-bifida. I’m still here 66 years later, so prayers that your father will have positive results, as I did.
Please know that right now I am adding my petitions to our Great God in heaven to move on behalf of your father and for the comfort of the Holy Spirit to be manifest to your entire family. May the words of the beautiful 3 Psalms you mentioned be powerful in effect as they are read and meditated on.

As I was praying I saw in my mind the presence of the Lord come down and pass through your father to eradicate everything that is not supposed to be there. All sickness , disease, cancer, infection must go in the name of Yeshua. Declaring victory and total healing and that your father’s days will not be cut short, but he will be strong and in good health all of his days. The Lion of Judah is roaring from Mount Zion to scatter all of your enemies and they are fleeing in seven directions, not only for your father but for you and your family and ministry. I lost my beloved husband to this dreaded illness. He was ill for ten days only. Ill that we knew he was going to leave us.
It was terrible for me in many ways, but for him it was glory. And the Lord has been a great and at times surprising God for me, with the promise of going to that place too, when my time has come.
Through the years, to be with Jeshua has become most important. Together, and with others, when we die,we will be delivered from the evil one and full of glory with and through Him.
That will be so good.
I hope and pray that, however your Dad’s life will run, that you and your loved ones will experience that peace that is beyond understanding.
Shalom to you, Gabrielle
