Based on the success of By the Rivers of Babylon, which revealed the rare Al-Yahudu tablets for the first time, the core material of this exhibition has been reinstalled in this exhibition, Jerusalem in Babylon.

Jerusalem in Babylon tells the story of the destruction of the First Temple and Jerusalem and the exile of the Judeans to Babylon.
The exhibition concludes with the echo of Psalm 137, “By the rivers of Babylon, there we sat and wept when we remembered Zion”, touching on the quest for return that has echoed in the hearts and prayers of the Jewish people for millennia.
The Al-Yahudu tablets reveal the names of dozens of Judean exiles, and their offspring, and bear a stunning testimony to their lives in Babylonia over a period of some one hundred years.

This exhibition was made possible due to the generosity of: Cindy and David Sofer, William L Gross, Green Family Collection, Dr. Haim Grossman, Aliza and Shlomo Moussaieff, and the Israel Antiquities Authority, The David Berg Foundation, George Blumenthal, Eugene and Emily Grant, Beth Sanders, Mary and Saul Sanders, Naomi and Peter Neustadter, The Elie and Batya Borowski Foundation, and the international friends of the BLMJ in America, Great Britain, and Germany, Lands of the Bible Archaeology Foundation, and the Israel Ministry of Culture and Sport, Israeli Ministry of Education and the Municipality of Jerusalem.
