2019 Gush Etzion Grape Harvest Festival
Gush Etzion, located in the Judean Hills, is known for its long-standing connection to traditional wine making. Throughout the Gush there is an abundance of archeological evidence of wine making throughout history. Today there are more than 800 Dunam of vineyards, and the demand for more planting is only increasing. It is in that spirit that at the end of the summer, the Gush Etzion Regional Council along with the Gush Tourism Department, and the Gush Winery, will be hosting the 3rd annual Gush Etzion Grape Harvest Festival.
The festival will take place on Thursday August 22, between 10:00-17:00, and Friday August 23, between 9:00-14:00, at the Gush Etzion Winery. Activities will include wine tasting, wine pressing, guided tours, children’s activities, pita baking, a farmer’s market, and more.
Gush Etzion Regional Council Head Shlomo Ne’eman said, “This is the third year we are hosting the Gush Etzion Grape Harvest Festival.” And just as wine gets better with age, so does this special event. We invite all of Israel to come encounter a true grape harvest, to taste fine boutique wines, and especially to spend time with the amazing people of Gush Etzion.
