Esther Horgen
Memorial Forest and Park
Upon concluding the week of mourning for their beloved Esther, the Horgen family went immediately to the site of her brutal murder in the nearby forest, and planted a tree in her memory.
For the Jewish People, planting trees in the Land of Israel has always been a Biblical commandment and a symbolic act deepening our roots into the soil of our homeland as it says, “And I will plant them upon their soil, nevermore to be uprooted from the soil I have given them, said Hashem your God” (Amos 9:15).
