VIDEO: Rare 3,000-Year-Old Jug Found

A rare inscription on a jug dating back to the times of King David was recently discovered by archeologists in the ancient city of Khirbet Qeiyafa. It is the fourth inscription to have ever been found from that era. The name that appears on the jug is Eshba’al Ben Bada, an unknown figure, but the first name “Eshba’al” has Biblical roots. It is the name of King Saul’s son. Historically, the name is not found in any other time period, giving confirmation to the jar’s date and matching up Biblical events with historical facts.
